Experiment: For a Wonderful Monday do this…

When I have to get out of bed to do anything that doesn’t please me I find it a challenge. I’m mentally spoilt. It’s always been this way with me. I have very little ability to do what I don’t want to do. Which is why I really admire people who somehow find the drive to stick to situations they detest.
I know people with such loathing for Mondays. They look at me as if I have two heads when I tell them I, in fact, love Mondays. But what is more interesting is how often their explanations suggest that they have nothing against the day or any other day of the week. It’s what they do on Mondays that they are averse to.
My friends often say I am self-dependent and in many ways they’re right. I owe this independence to an imagination that loves to find beauty in everything. I always often find beauty in things. Sometimes it happens in a flash and sometimes it takes decades.

If you’re someone who doesn’t care for Mondays because of what you have to do with it, you can take steps to improve your mood. Here is one way to go about it: host a dance party for yourself:
1. You’ll need about 15 mins to an hour for your event. It means if you get up at 7am, you’ll want to be out of bed by at least 6:45am.
2. Make yourself a gift of a rocking playlist of some favorite dance music the day before. And if you ever felt you had better taste in music than half the DJ’s out there, here is your chance to impress yourself. And if you are feeling really impressed, send a copy of your good playlist to a friend who shares your feelings about Mondays and shares your great taste in music.
3. Have your iPod or whatever you use to listen to music ready next to your wake-up alarm.
4. When your alarm starts whining, slap that thing off and hit play. There you go… P A R T Y  T I M E ! ! ! W O O O O O T W O O O O O O O T! ! ! Blast through the morning like your life depends on it. In a way, your happiness does depend on it. ^_^
Need I say you’ll have a great time? Dance yourself into wakefulness for like fifteen minutes or for as much time as you have set up for your event. Bring the music to the bathroom for your ablutions then for breakfast. After breakfast, put it off. But if you still need it then keep it going. Hum as you go through your morning routines.
Remember to feel good about yourself: You rock! You don’t need me or anyone to tell you this. If it’s gray out there, be your own sunshine until the sun decides to show up. You can be your own source of a good time. Everyone deserves a little break, even that great sun.
Your private little party will be the reason why your greetings of good morning would be heard by others as if it were sang. It’ll be the reason why you generously tip the girl who hands you your coffee…even though she has spelled your name wrong, again! When you smile, it will be as if there is a party going on inside you. 😉

Mate, oxygen is still free so there’s every reason to celebrate.
Have a blast!
Jane
